Description:
A dramatic vertical design of sparkly turquoise dragons chasing each other
amisdt roses that are climbing through gothic stone tracery. The dark
blue background fabric adds an interesting counterpoint to the playful
little dragons.
Background Information:
This unusual design is an adaptation of one of my pen and ink drawings
called "Hide
and Seek". I'm fascinated by gothic architecture, and
especially by its stone tracery elements. I also enjoy the juxtaposition
of organic and inorganic: natural forms contrasted with those that are
man-made. While I
chose to stitch the design on a specialty-dyed dark purple-blue fabric,
it could also be stitched on any darker fabric color. I can't wait to
see what stitchers choose to use! (Please send me pictures! :-))
Stitching
Comments: While this design is fairly small (as compared to
many of mine!), it still has a ton of fractional stitches and backstitching.
And though it contains only 38 floss colors, most are blended. The design
also utilizes a bit of metallic fiber. I've included a separate backstitch
chart for this design, and I recommend that it be stitched in the order
directed to save yourself unnecessary stress! ;-)
