Description: This tiny styilized dragon is stitched over-one in shades of coral, gold and vibrant fire-ember blues, accented with a bit of metallic blending filament. It was designed as a companion piece to "Water Dragon", designed by Jennifer Aikman-Smith of Dragon Dreams, Inc. Background Information: Jennifer and I decided to do a pair of dragons for a joint class at the Creativ Festival in Toronto: I chose "Fire", and she picked "Water". We wanted to keep the designs very small, so decided to design them for over-one...which allows for quite a surprizing amount of detail (without backstitching) if the colors are handled carefully. This little guy was a lot of fun to design!
Stitching Comments: Fire Dragon is a fairly easy design to stitch, especially if you enjoy stitching over-one. It's a perfect design for an ornament or a fob... stitch Jennifer's lovely little "Water Dragon " for the reverse side! Of course, any piece designed for over-one can successfully translated to over-two: just use the proper number of floss strands for the fabric you choose.
