Description: A collection of realistic, yet whimsical ornaments based on the familiar carol. Designed to be stitched over-one (with an over-two border edge for contrast), each piece is a charming depiction of the gift given on that day. Each design has it's own border with day-appropriate lettering and they are accented with petite beads.
Background Information: I've received many requests over the years for a set of ornaments based on The 12 Days of Christmas. The first design appeared in the 1999 Just Cross Stitch Ornament issue. I finally got around to designing the rest of them! It was challenging to do depictions that weren't too simplistic; so I decided to design them for over-one stitching to get the detail I needed.
The models were beautifully stitched by Fiona Birchall: Great job, Fiona!! They were framed together in one grouping... for ease in photographing the cover model for the chartpack.
Stitching Comments: While these designs can be stitched as individual ornaments, they can also be grouped in various ways for a single larger design, or in groups of 3 or 4 for several framed pieces. The portions of the designs inside the circular borders also fit quite nicely in the squares of the "Teresa Cloth" afghan (available from Zweigart). Use your imagination, and create your own special Christmas keepsakes customized for your own home or for a loved one.
