Description: This leaflet contains two wreath designs. The first features fruits and flowers in the colors of spring and summer: pale peach roses, yellow daylilies, red poppies, blue forget-me-nots, purple delphinium, white anemones, pears, peaches, plums, cherries, and white grapes. The second wreath features the colors of fall and winter: salmon roses, yellow yarrow, white hibiscus, Chinese lanterns, acorns, ivy, red grapes, golden pears, apples, and pomegranates. Each wreath is finished with a simple cross stitch border in shades of gold.
Background Information: These designs were created in response to requests for easy-to-stitch home decor patterns, thus they are designed with no fractional stitches. The challenge was to create realistic fruits and flowers, perennial home-dec favorites, in a wreath format. A square design seems to be one of the most versatile; it adapts easily to framing or to use as a pillow top, seat cover, or even the central motif for a tablecloth.
Stitching Comments: I would rate these designs fairly easy to stitch. The biggest challenge would have to be all the blended floss colors (realism comes at a cost!): about half the colors are blends. The floss list in the leaflet looks intimidating, but bear in mind that all colors for both designs are listed together. As mentioned, there are no fractional stitches, so the backstitching is very straight-forward, and the computer-generated charts are quite clear.
