Description: This striking geometric-inspired symmetrical design combines interlocking borders, floral motifs, specialty stitches, and is accented with gold seed beads. It is stitched in shades of blue, mauve, gold and green.

Background Information: This is my first piece designed using a computer. Since I use a CAD (computer-aided drafting) program, the geometric capabilities of the software were just too enticing to resist! In order to "soften" all those angles, I decided to add floral elements and a few interesting visual twists- by overlapping and interlocking the geometric shapes, shading certain areas, and using different specialty stitches for textural contrast. But, mostly, this piece was pure fun to design!

Stitching Comments: This design is not large, has a limited amount of colors, and relatively simple specialty stitches. And, since it is symmetrical, once 1/4 of the design has been stitched, the rest of it will go very quickly! Portions of the design can also be used for other projects: for example, the central portion could be stitched as a pincushion.

Specialty Stitches: French knot, diamond eyelet, eight-sided eyelet
