Description: Travelling together through a wintery landscape of snowy evergreens, a cloaked father Christmas figure and his gift-laden draft horse pause to rest for a moment. The man offers his weary companion an apple, and perhaps, some encouraging words...

Background Information: I wanted to design a non-traditional father Christmas (so he's not dressed in the colors you might expect), and to give the design a spirit-of-the-season (so to speak) illustrative slant, I decided to concentrate on the interaction between man and beast. This design was also inspired by the prominent part animals play in many of the well-loved stories surrounding the birth of Christ.

Stitching Comments: This design is one of my smaller pieces. There are lots of quarter stitches, and quite a few blended colors, but the chart is quite clear for being hand drawn.

Specialty Stitches: none

Important Tips: Charting Technique, Organizing Floss
